The Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan, headed by Ambassador George Dick, launched an extraordinary medical aid operation on Monday that included flying Israeli ophthalmologists and plastic surgeons to perform no less than 150 surgeries and treatments for the wounded in the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

And today (Friday) one of the most senior figures in Baku, the assistant president and head of the foreign policy division at the presidency - the establishment of Hajib, posted on his Twitter page a tribute.

"This is just a wonderful story," Hajib wrote on his Twitter page. "We are full of thanks to the medical staff and the Israeli embassy who provided medical assistance to the wounded soldiers and officers. This is proof of friendship between the countries."

Hajib concluded with a quote from Jewish sources: "Everyone who saves one soul is as if he saved a world and its fullness."

Israeli Ambassador George Dick posted on his Twitter page yesterday his own message: "This is the spirit of friendship between Israel and Azerbaijan. We want these people to regain their solid health, self-confidence and ability to live a normal and dignified life in their homeland - Azerbaijan. ".

Dick is an extraordinary Israeli success story.

In 2018, at the age of only 34, he was appointed ambassador to Baku - thus becoming the first Israeli Arab-Christian ambassador.

Throughout his time in Baku, relations between Israel and Azerbaijan continued to strengthen in various areas.

In the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, of which Dick now leads Israeli medical aid for the wounded, the Azeris used, according to foreign publications, various types of Israeli weapons - both at the level of ballistic missiles and at the level of the air defense system.
