(ANSA) - TREVISO, 05 MAR - A 70-year-old man was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of aggravated double murder for the death of his wife, Franca Fava, 68, and a friend, Fiorella Sandre, 74, remained charred in the fire of the couple's house. The episode took place on 10 June 2020 in Castagnole di Paese, in the Treviso area. The burning of the house turned out to have been intentionally set.
The man was already under investigation by the Treviso prosecutor's office. The custody order, issued by the investigating judge of Treviso, was carried out by the Montebelluna carabinieri. The motive for the double murder, according to what emerged from the investigations, was the man's will to collect insurance premiums for the damage from the fire and for the two victims. (HANDLE).
