Iran affirmed that the Zionist entity's development of its secret nuclear weapons program poses a great and continuous threat to the security of the region and the world and to the effectiveness of the NPT.
Fars news agency quoted Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Kazem Gharib Abadi, as saying today, “Since all countries in the Middle East region except for the Zionist entity are members of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and have pledged to accept the guarantee treaties of the IAEA, The development of a secret nuclear weapons program by this entity poses a great and continuous threat not only to the security and stability of the region and the world, but also to the impact of NPT and the guarantee system of the International Agency and their effectiveness. ”
Gharib Abadi added, “The nuclear capabilities of the Zionist entity and the dangers associated with it have been on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and so far many decisions have been issued in this field. Putting its nuclear facilities under the comprehensive guarantee system of the International Agency.
Gharib Abadi explained that there is a blatant contradiction that an entity that is not a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and because of its membership in the IAEA enjoys full rights and benefits, and at the same time sees itself in a solution of any responsibility and even participates in all the consultations and meetings of the agency.
