The Czech Republic requested assistance from its neighboring countries by receiving dozens of cases of Covid-19, after the situation in its hospitals reached a critical state with overcrowding with injuries.
Reuters quoted Health Minister Jan Platney as saying today that “Hospitals in his country have exhausted their capabilities in some areas and are no longer able to provide appropriate care or receive new Corona virus patients without help from others,” calling on Germany, Switzerland and Poland to help them face the pandemic.
The Czech Republic, which has become one of the countries most affected by the pandemic in recent weeks, with the influx of patients to hospitals exceeding its capacity, was forced to transfer patients to hospitals in other places, transfer some cases hundreds of miles, and declare a state of emergency on the 14th of last February.
Ministry of Health data showed that as of this morning, 8,153 patients with 19 Covid had entered hospitals, of whom 1,735 needed intensive care.
