The opposition also took the opportunity to recall the praise that Fernández gave Insfrán a short time ago, defining him as "one of the best politicians and human beings."

The president of the interblock of the deputies of Together for Change, Mario Negri, also sent a message to Fernández: "President Alberto Fernández tell your friend Insfrán to stop repressing the people of Formosa!" He wrote.

He also demanded that the Government not have "

double standards on Human Rights

."

For its part, the interblock of senators from Together for Change, led by the radical Formosa Luis Naidenoff, demanded that the national government "take action on the matter so that it urgently

guarantees the fundamental rights violated

."

And he added: "We cannot allow collusion or complicity with those governments that have used and abused power, within the framework of the pandemic in Argentina."

In a statement entitled

"Repression in Formosa: human rights have no political color,"

the opposition senators express their "repudiation of the fierce repression ordered by Governor Insfrán against citizens who demonstrated for the right to work and for freedom, before the decision to return to phase 1 of confinement ".

Formosa deputy Ricardo Buryaile, who was very active from social networks and in the media questioning Insfrán's decisions, said that "

the president cannot remain silent

" in the face of these events.

For her part, the deputy of the Buenos Aires UCR,

Karina Banfi

, said that “Formosa is one of the people of Formosa who

want to be free to work

, take care of their families, study and grow up with respect for human rights.

This happens in the government of Insfrán.

Now ”, accompanying the tweet with images of the police repression.

For its part, the GEN of Margarita Stolbizer issued a text entitled "The repression in Formosa is

typical of an authoritarian government."

It bears the signature of the former deputy together with that of the Buenos Aires legislator and secretary general of the party, Sergio Abrevaya, and maintains: "No protest justifies a repression, much less with the brutality with which the Formosan Police has done it, and even less when the claim is to defend work at a time when poverty is increasing as a result of the pandemic and quarantine. "

Shouting "we want to work", dozens of people marched this Friday to the provincial Government House to protest Insfrán's decision to return to phase 1 due to the increase in coronavirus cases.

At one point, and when they tried to circumvent the security fence set up in the place, they faced police officers, who threw rubber bullets, tear gas, and then arrested some protesters, including journalists.

The provincial government justified the police action and ratified the tightening of the restrictions in the province.

It was the provincial government minister, Jorge Abel González, who spoke out in defense of the violent police action.

As he argued, the security forces acted because the protesters

"threw eggs" and then "broke the fence" perimeter of the Government House

.

"A first act of violence is that they threw eggs and the second is that they broke the fence," González said in statements to

C5N

.
