WhatsApp announced the launch of a feature that supports voice and video calls through its application for computers.
Sky News quoted WhatsApp as saying in a statement that users will be able to make voice and video group calls via the computer version of "WhatsApp" and that these calls will be encrypted.
The statement indicated that video calls will work smoothly for both portrait and landscape orientation and that the desktop application has been set to be always on top so that you do not lose video chats in the browser tab or open windows.
The move puts WhatsApp in competition with "Zoom" and "Google Mate" in the field of video calling via the desktop.
