A spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced that Russia intends to draw up a blacklist of its own soon in response to the US sanctions against it.
"Because of the way the Americans act, especially the fact that they put all the blacklists at once ... I think we will respond to them in kind soon ... and work is under way." .
Zakharova added: Moscow used to refrain from drawing public attention to its response measures, and she said, "In fact, we never announced our actions in the past ... and now we will put our blacklists in response to their lists and they realize that their officials will be placed on these lists."
It is noteworthy that the United States imposed last Tuesday a package of sanctions that included institutions and high-level Russian officials that Washington considers linked to the Alexei Navalny case.
