S.Oliver: Claus-Dietrich Lahrs continues radical restructuring

2021-03-05T11:46:34.428Z

Claus-Dietrich Lahrs, the famous CEO of the German fashion manufacturer, is sticking to his restructuring plan, which was already ambitious without a lockdown. Now, Product Manager Kristina Szasz has to leave - and further layoffs cannot be ruled out.

Claus-Dietrich Lahrs

(57) is very tense these days.

Probably Germany's most famous fashion manager struggles with politics.

The month-long closure of the retail trade endangers the last coup of his career: to almost double the turnover of the Franconian fashion group S.Oliver from 1.3 to around 2.5 billion euros.

Lahrs wants to achieve this by the time his contract expires at the end of 2024.

The former boss of Hugo Boss left the luxury tailor Bottega Veneta in 2019 to take a seat on the most notorious ejection seat in the industry and

to crown

the life's work of owner

Bernd Freier

(74).

And he is currently doing a lot of lobbying as the mouthpiece of a coalition of frustrated retail chains and manufacturers.

In between, however, Lahrs apparently still finds enough time to radically remodel his own shop, which leads to a lot of noise.

In the previous year, around 400 employees had to leave, including many long-term confidants of the owner.

Insiders put the severance payments due at around 50 million euros.

If the lockdown lasts longer, Lahrs does not rule out further layoffs.
