SPD General Secretary Lars Klingbeil criticized Söder for his verbal attack: "I believe that Mr. Söder's tension of the last few weeks has also been relieved a little," Klingbeil told SPIEGEL.
"The ministers of the CDU and CSU are under a lot of pressure right now because a lot of things don't work, for example with economic aid, testing, vaccination."
After the deliberations, Söder tried at a press conference to downplay the matter: "I don't want to say we are one heart and one soul, but now everything is fine again."
