3 children were injured in the explosion of an explosive device at the eastern entrance to the city of Daraa.
The provincial police chief, Brigadier Dirar Al-Dandal, told SANA's correspondent that “an explosive device placed in an empty plastic box exploded with children playing near Al-Khirbet roundabout at the eastern entrance to Daraa city, wounding 3 of them, one of them moderately, and they were treated at Daraa National Hospital for treatment.”
Brigadier-General Al-Dandal stated that "by inspecting the area around the entrance to the city, it was found that there were explosive materials planted with stones from the building blocks and a number of detonators," indicating that the area is residential and witnesses an active commercial movement.
An explosive device planted by unknown persons in a public car exploded at the beginning of this month in the North El-Khat neighborhood in the center of Daraa, causing material damage.
There are cells belonging to terrorist groups that were spread in some areas of Daraa countryside before their liberation, trying from time to time to destabilize the security situation in various ways.
