The Egling community budget for 2021 is in place: the community council unanimously approved the figures in its most recent meeting.

The Egling community budget for 2021 is in place: the community council unanimously approved the figures in its most recent meeting.

  • The Eglingen municipal council passed the budget for 2021 without a dissenting vote

  • The largest expenditure item is the district levy

  • This year further investments are to be made - among other things in social housing

Egling - The total volume of the household has decreased slightly compared to the previous year and will be 12.4 million euros in 2021.

The budget is divided into the administrative budget with 9.1 million euros and the asset budget with 3.3 million euros.

A decline in tax revenue is to be expected

The corona pandemic left little traces in the past year.

According to treasurer Daniela Simon, the financial year was very positive due to a further increase in trade tax income.

As of December 31, 2020, EUR 664,000 more was achieved than originally estimated.

At the same time, not all of the planned measures could be implemented, so that "not insignificant savings amounts" result here.

“It was planned that we would have to withdraw two million euros from the reserves.

In fact, we added 65,000 euros, ”added Mayor Hubert Oberhauser in an interview with our newspaper.

Nevertheless, the impact of current events on municipal finances cannot be estimated at the moment.

"There is a possibility that the measures estimated in the 2021 budget cannot be implemented because all possible resources are lacking," said the treasurer.

A decline in tax revenues can also be expected.

40 percent less key assignment

For this year, Egling expects a good 3.8 million euros in income tax - a little less than in 2020. The municipality had calculated at 3.6 million euros.

3.9 million euros actually flowed.

Simon has also corrected the expected trade tax income slightly downwards: It expects 2.1 million euros (2020: 2.3 million euros).

The key allocation by the Free State is almost 40 percent lower this year because, according to Oberhauser, the municipality has a very good tax capacity.

Overall, the estimated shortfall in income amounts to around 700,000 euros.

District levy increases

Traditionally, the largest expenditure item for the municipality is the district levy, which will again be higher.

It increases by 170,000 euros.

This brings Egling to a value of over 3.2 million euros.

Personnel expenses are also not small at 2.6 million euros.

They have increased by EUR 272,000 compared to the previous year.

The additional expenses result from new hires in the area of childcare, higher groupings, rising salaries and due to the granting of a large-scale allowance including child allowance.

Substantial investments are also to be made in 2021

In 2021, the municipality wants to invest heavily.

The renovation of the community center in Deining continues, as does the development of the “Springer” property with social housing and the expansion of the day care center in Deining.

“We will build a day care center at the school, and in the process we will renovate the school and the gym,” says Mayor Oberhauser, looking to the future.

Planning costs for this measure are already included in the budget this year.

A “big chunk” for the community is also the renovation of the through-town in Deining - scheduled for 2022.

A sum of more than 3.3 million euros goes into the following areas: in the renovation and creation of living space, in fire extinguishing, in streets and in childcare.

The expenses for this can be financed by reaching into the reserves amounting to 1.3 million euros.

The municipality's assets were at a record level of almost five million euros at the end of 2020.

Because of the investments, it will have shrunk by about a quarter by the end of 2021.

Debt level remains unchanged

The debt level remains unchanged at 1.1 million euros.

In 2019, the municipality took out an interest-free loan for social housing.

It has been repaid since this year.
