David Bittan: It is evident that while countries like Israel try to vaccinate all their inhabitants and neighbors - even installing vaccination centers in bars - others are still lagging behind, from my point of view due to poor government management. | Opinion | CNN

(CNN Spanish) -

The coronavirus has managed to show the most fragile face of the human being, having put the world in "reflection mode."

The alarms have been raised to know where we are failing and who or who is doing better to overcome the crisis.

One thing has become clear: this movie did not seem like a possible scenario for anyone.

Even the World Health Organization has been left without effective answers at the time of the demands.

Likewise, it is evident that while countries like Israel try to vaccinate all their inhabitants and neighbors - even installing vaccination centers in bars - others are still lagging behind, from my point of view due to poor government management.

It is very sad to see the scandals that have been mounted in Peru, for example, because politicians, the military or groups of people who are not on the famous “priority” lists have been vaccinated.

Not to mention Spain, where the controversy began with the vaccination of various politicians, as well as members of the Police and the Armed Forces, which led to the resignation of the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Army.

To close with a flourish, a few days ago it came to light that infantas Elena and Cristina - sisters of King Felipe VI - were vaccinated in Abu Dhabi, the current place of residence of their father, King Emeritus Juan Carlos I. In this regard, and in their defense, I would like to point out that this event is not something illegal, since they have not done anything different from what any tourist could have done when they were there;

in Abu Dhabi tourism is encouraged to get vaccinated.

In addition, today the sisters of the king do not have institutional representation on the part of the Spanish royal house.

Even one of them, Cristina, was stripped of her title of Duchess of Palma;

However, this situation is exploited by those who are promoting a republic in Spain, who seek to discredit the monarchical institution, which is constitutional and is part of the rule of law in that country.

To tell the truth, as I see it, after health personnel, among the first to be vaccinated in any country should be politicians, civil, police and military authorities.

But some governments hide their terrible management by avoiding responsibilities, and do not attack the essence of the problem, which is none other than respecting the right that all citizens have to access a vaccine that saves their lives, regardless of their age, social class, religion , occupation and / or sex.

Those who fuel this criticism are those who are doing things wrong.

Today we depend on each other and the goal is to try to achieve general herd immunity.

Enough of so much demagoguery!
