This Saturday, the Conmebol council communicated through a message on its Twitter account that the double date of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, scheduled for March, has been suspended.

This decision is due to the fact that some clubs in Europe have refused to lend their players to travel to South America and face these matches, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
By letting the footballers travel, it would imply that upon their return they must be isolated for at least 10 days and games that would be defining the competitions on the European continent would be lost.
