With the participation of 45 male and female players, the Workers Sports Club in Homs held a new refresher chess tournament within the framework of the tournaments it has been holding recently.

Bashar Al-Zalma won first place with five points and drew in second place with four points each of the players Nour Qanas, Habib Waqaf, Malek Al-Tawbah, Mays Waqf and Adnan Khaddam.

Coach Bashar Al-Mustafa explained in a statement to SANA's representative that the tournament had strong competitions due to the presence of new players from different age groups, noting that the tournament was held for four hours over five rounds according to the Swiss system.

On the other hand, the Technical Committee for Table Tennis in Homs held a refresher tournament for the promising category, and its results resulted in Youssef Al-Khader winning first place, followed by Muhammad Al-Khader, then Abdul Kafi and Christian Shenwar.

Chairman of the Technical Subcommittee for Table Tennis, Bassam Hamza, pointed to the importance of age group tournaments due to its role in providing opportunities for friction, increasing experience and refining talents, indicating that the Homs team for the promising and promising category includes many talents that are being prepared for the upcoming tournaments.
