The beautiful weather attracted many Munich residents to their doorstep despite Corona at the weekend. Further relaxations of the corona protection regulations are pending. But how long this freedom in Munich will last is uncertain.

The beautiful weather attracted many Munich residents to their doorstep despite Corona at the weekend.

Further relaxations of the corona protection regulations are pending.

But how long this freedom in Munich will last is uncertain.

Bright sunshine and mild temperatures lured thousands out into the open on the weekend.

People strolled on Gärtnerplatz, several hundred bathed in the sun at the opera.

And from Monday there will be further easing in Munich * - but which ones and for how long?

Because the number of infections is increasing again.

On Sunday, the 7-day incidence was 52.1 *.

And so the value is not only higher than on Saturday (48.3), but is also above the limit of 50.

Corona in Munich: What applies now, which easing take effect

What is true now?

The State Ministry has issued the twelfth ordinance on infection protection.

Accordingly, the "relevant incidence classification" will be determined on the date of the announcement (March 7).

That means: The decisive factor is the incidence value of Sunday - i.e. 52.1.

A scenario with slight relaxation for the values 50 to 100 applies.

What does that mean?

First of all, exceeding the 50 mark has no effect on the planned easing in Munich.

The crisis team had already prepared for the 50 to 100 scenario.

That means: museums and zoos will open from Monday - however, visits can only be made by booking an appointment (see text below).

This also applies to retail.

Sport Schuster, Bettenrid, Oberpollinger, Hirmer, Kaufhof and Konen will open (with an appointment).

Corona in Munich: This is how access to shops is now regulated

Access to the shops is regulated; only one customer is allowed per 40 square meters of sales area.

Regardless of the incidence, bookshops, flower shops and garden centers will also be open from Monday.

As well as body-hugging services and driving and flight schools.

A current Covid test is necessary in individual cases.

What's next?

From an incidence value of 100, the easing would be revoked.

Should the incidence in Munich fall below 50 on three days, further easing is conceivable.

Visiting museums, the zoo or the botanical garden, for example, would then again be possible without an appointment.

This also applies to retail.

The spokesman for the Munich city center retailers, Wolfgang Fischer from City Partner, said the companies would inform their customers on their websites and via newsletters whether they need to make an appointment.

Fischer now fears shopping tourism.

Because while retail in Munich only opens with an appointment, shopping in some of the surrounding areas is possible without an appointment.

It is important to note that

the incidence value must be below 50 or above 100 for three consecutive days.

Only then does the city decide on day four.

In other words: The easing changes on the fifth day of an incidence above 100 or below 50 at the earliest.
