French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan announced the sending of security reinforcements to the outskirts of Lyon, which witnessed protests and the burning of 13 cars yesterday.
“I decided to send a third mobile force and more than 200 policemen to impose the republican order,” Darmanan said in a tweet posted on the social networking site Twitter, justifying these reinforcements with “unacceptable acts of violence” in the city.
In turn, the French newspaper Le Figaro revealed that the police arrested at least 6 people in the town of Relio Labap, in the suburbs of Lyon, last Friday, on the second day of protests in a number of areas in the city and its suburbs, also noting that 13 cars were set on fire without explaining the protesters' demands.
Dozens of cities across France witnessed in the months of January and February and at the end of 2020 demonstrations and protests denouncing the "comprehensive security" law. The French security forces met with repression, using various methods, in addition to dozens of arrests campaigns.
