Russia's bragging in August about being the first country in the world to approve a vaccine against the corona virus was accompanied by great skepticism, due to the few tests.

Half a year later, the demand for Sputnik 5 is growing, and experts are raising questions now, but this time about Moscow's ability to meet demand around the world.

Slovakia received 200,000 vaccines last week, though the European Medicines Agency only began a preliminary test of the vaccine last Tuesday.

The Czech president, who was badly affected by the epidemic, also said he had written directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin to win the supply of vaccines.

Millions of vaccines are expected to reach Latin America, Africa, the former Soviet Union and the Middle East.

"Sputnik 5 continues to confidently conquer Europe," said presenter Olga Skabayeva on government channel Russia-1.

Dmitry Kislev, the closest presenter to the Kremlin, exaggerated even more last month when he said: "The Russian vaccine against the corona virus, Sputnik 5, is the best in the world."

Russia's official television channels allocate many hours to the vaccine export, recalling praise received by Russia from around the world and broadcasting footage of the difficulties countries are experiencing with the supply of Western vaccines.

Early criticism of Sputnik 5 was replaced by a recent study published in the British medical journal considered to nest, which showed 91% efficacy in a vaccine after a multi-participant trial.

The impressive data can help Russia's image as a scientific, technological and generous power, especially when other countries suffer from vaccine shortages because rich countries stock up on those developed in the West or due to increased production capacity of companies.

The fact that Russia is one of five countries managed to develop a vaccine as quickly as possible to Russia to present itself as a powerful technological knowledge and not as a fuel pump in decline, "said Vladimir Frolov, an expert on Foreign Relations.

Some of the experts say that expanding the use of vaccines from China and Russia, are not as popular as those from the West, you can Offer a quick way to increase global supplies.Other note that Russia wants to rake in geopolitical achievements with their help.
