Daraa-Sana
Artistic and cultural activities, poetry and honorary performances for distinguished mothers under the age of twenty-five years, included in the event held by the (First Step) Center for Vocational Training and Capacity Building of the Saint Ephrem Syriac Patriarchal Authority Branch for Development in Daraa today.
The coordinator of the (First Step) Center, Yara Nassar, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the center works with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and provides activities, professional courses, skills and initiatives that this target group is able to give and take its role in society and participation, as various courses have been held in the center. A number of women have embodied success stories that showed their determination to work despite the harsh conditions they suffered.
One of the honorees, Yara Bajbouj, who is the wife of a martyr, mentioned that affiliation with the center (the first step) contributed to securing a secure work opportunity for her financially and helped her in taking care of her son, indicating that work for women is necessary and enjoyable, as she is currently working in the field of electronic marketing.
Eileen Faddoul, the new district manager at Mar Ephrem, confirmed with her speech during the event the importance of celebrating International Women's Day to express her thanks.
