Sana'a - Sana
Eight migrants and guards were killed and dozens injured as a result of a fire broke out yesterday at a shelter in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a.
Agence France-Presse quoted the Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration in the Middle East and North Africa Carmela Godot as saying that "eight people have been confirmed killed, while reports indicate that the total death toll is much higher," noting that the cause of the fire "is still unclear."
She added that the organization provides emergency health care to more than 170 wounded, more than 90 of them are critical.
Thousands of migrants are believed to be stranded in Yemen because of the war, and 20 people drowned last week after smugglers threw dozens of migrants into the sea between Djibouti and Yemen, according to the organization.
