The suspension of the respective customs duties in the context of the Boeing-Airbus dispute, announced on Friday, is a "
major step forward
" which opens the door to a
"resumption of the relationship
", welcomes Valdis Dombrovskis, executive vice-president of the European Commission, in an interview with
Le Figaro
.
This suspension was a long-standing proposal from Brussels, rejected by Donald Trump.
His successor Joe Biden quickly accepted the idea, explained to
"all levels
" with the new Administration as it took place.

The delay is short.
Brussels would have preferred a period of six months.
But the Latvian, also Commissioner for Trade, wants to be optimistic.
