A homeless driver (74) caused considerable property damage on Saturday afternoon in the Edeka car park in Benediktbeuern.

Benediktbeuern

- An extraordinary accident occurred in Benediktbeuern on Saturday.

Everything happened in front of the eyes of the Kochler police, who were just out and about in Benediktbeuern.

On the B 11, the officers became aware of a driver who was driving his van in a serpentine manner.

Presumably, according to the press report, he wanted to evade control by turning into the parking lot.

But the man was unable to keep his car under control.

He rammed the parked car of a cook (23) and crashed into the snack bar, which was severely damaged.

The owner (53) from Penzberg was slightly injured.

The perpetrator (74) was uninjured.

It is a homeless person who is dependent on a wheelchair, the officials say.

According to the police, he is "unable and suitable to drive a car due to significant physical deficiencies".

Driver's license and key were secured.

Due to his poor general condition, the man was taken to the Penzberg hospital.

The property damage to all three vehicles amounts to a total of 11,000 euros.
