The cadres and crews working in the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources completed the maintenance work of the compressor system, the feeding system and the engine control center at the second plant of Hayyan Oil Company in Homs Governorate.

During his tour of the plant, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, was briefed today on the reality of work at the station after the completion of compressor maintenance work, which will result in a current increase in production by about 200 thousand cubic meters of gas per day, through which the electric generation stations will be supplied.

In turn, Eng. Basem Saad, Chairman of Hayyan Oil Company, said in a statement to SANA that the company’s crews carried out a “creative solution” after sabotaging the main facilities of the plant as a result of terrorism, as the system consists of four compressors and after conducting engineering studies according to the reality of the facilities after the systematic destruction process that took place. It was exposed to terrorist gangs and according to the requirements of the stage and the operational reality, taking into account all parts and equipment that can be used and rehabilitated.

Saad explained that the modifications were implemented according to these engineering studies and creative solutions that were created by national teams and cadres and in cooperation with friendly companies, so that these compressors began to compress and invest the gas resulting from installing condensate as a result of sabotaging the basic condensate unit in the plant in addition to the pressure of gas wells with low and medium pressures.

Saad indicated that as a result of completing the rehabilitation of the compressor system with the electrical feeding system, it became possible to benefit from the gas produced by installing the condensate, which is burned on the flame and investing gas from medium and low pressure wells, stressing that there will be a current increase in production by about 200 thousand cubic meters per day and can reach 250 thousand cubic meters per day, which is the capacity of the compressors system.

Engineer Raed Issa, Head of Operations Department at Hayyan Gas Plant, indicated that the rehabilitation of compressors is a continuation of the series of rehabilitation processes that are being worked on at Hayyan Plant, stressing that the work was done thanks to the efforts of all national companies and with the help of the private sector. Pillars of the national economy have importance in the energy and electricity industry.

Eng. Kinan Khader, Head of Maintenance Department at Hayyan Oil Company, pointed out that the compressors for the second station, which were destroyed by terrorist organizations, had been successfully launched, indicating that this step would significantly contribute to production operations, affirming the continuation of efforts and "tremendous steps" in the reconstruction phase.

Worker Rabie Hassoun, who works in the operation of gas compressors in the second stage of Hayyan oil station, indicated that the gas compressor is tasked with raising the pressure of the gas produced from the wells and after separating the liquids from it and compressing it with a pressure proportional to the pressure of the gas network for a direct supply to the electricity network, indicating that the station was completely destroyed from Before the terrorists, it did not compel them to carry out turning, settlement and other operations, given that Syria suffers from the unjust siege and no parts can be imported, indicating that the operations were carried out with national expertise.

The tour included a review of the well (Sharifa 6) after the completion of its rehabilitation works, as Eng. Maurice Hanoun, Assistant Director of the Central Region Fields, indicated that the well (Sharifa 6) has been rehabilitated and repaired and put into production again, indicating that this well was previously dug and re-cleaned The reservoir with a daily production capacity of 203 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.

The tour also included the Ebla plant and seeing the completion of the maintenance of the equipment responsible for cooling in the plant, as Adel Mansour, a production supervisor at the Ebla Gas Plant, indicated that, with national experiences, the maintenance of the equipment responsible for cooling in the plant has been completed, without which there is no condensation of gas and its conversion to a liquid state. It is invested in domestic gas production.
