Participants in the second session of the annual conference of the Professional Federation of Construction, Reclamation and Dam workers unions emphasized the necessity of preserving the cadres and technical and professional expertise and avoiding any shortage of manpower in public companies.

The participants called for merging the Operation and Maintenance Directorate with the Euphrates Basin branch in Deir Ezzor, unifying the internal regulations of construction companies with regard to labor dress, food and medical supplies, and giving a cash allowance for unused administrative annual leave to workers, in addition to granting compensation for Saturday or considering it as an additional work for construction companies.

The participants called for securing work fronts for each governorate separately for Raqqa, Hasaka and Deir Ezzor, finding solutions to the housing issue in the Euphrates basin in Deir Az Zour, forming health and safety committees for each company, identifying work injuries, and fixing temporary workers, workers on the bill, and daily workers.

A number of participants questioned the fate of the idea of ​​merging construction companies, returning workers who were dismissed from their work, and finding a mechanism that obligates private sector workers to join the trade union organization and search for a solution to the weakness and power outages necessary to operate the pumping stations to store water in dams for agricultural purposes and solve the problem of wells. Hanoush, head of the Vocational Federation of Construction, Reclamation and Dam Workers Syndicates, succeeded in stating that the issue of late salaries for workers, including annual contracts, was addressed by paying all dues, while endeavors were made to install the daily-workers in Hama Cement Company.

On labor housing in the Quneitra governorate, Mazen Al-Lahham, Director of the Public Institution for Housing, indicated that the number of subscribers in the governorate reached 488, and in 2018, 208 subscribers were allocated, and during this year another 280 subscribers will be allocated.
