Participants in the annual conference of the Professional Federation of Trade Unions of Food Industry, Tobacco and Agricultural Development stressed the need to rehabilitate the laboratories of the Orient Food Products Company, provide raw materials for dairy and cheese manufacturing companies, and include all workers with health insurance.
Participants in the annual conference held at the Sahara Hotel today called for opening the ceiling for overtime, rehabilitating bakeries in the eastern and northern regions, activating sugar beet cultivation, and establishing yellow corn dryers in the western and eastern countryside of Raqqa.
They called for receiving all the wheat from farmers, rehabilitating the onion plant in Salamiyah, rehabilitating the machinery for the seed multiplication institution in Daraa, speeding up the processing of the port silo, rehabilitating the industrial city hall in Sheikh Najjar in Aleppo, activating the role of the fodder institution to secure the needs of the poultry and cattle establishment, and include the two institutions in the Agricultural Support Fund.
In their responses to the interventions, the director of the Syrian Foundation for Grains, Eng. Yusuf Qasim, pointed out that the Syrian Grain Corporation had adopted a new incentive system whereby the ceiling was canceled and that all workers would receive incentives next April, pointing out that receiving the grains could not be done randomly without taking into account the quality of wheat and its crime. .
The director of the Syrian Company for Bakeries, Ziyad Hazaa, pointed out that all workers in the bakeries on the production lines are included in the diet, but this needs one billion pounds, and the available sums only cover about 20 percent of the workers, so we requested an increase in the credit to cover all workers without administrators.
The Director General of the General Authority for Scientific Agricultural Research, Dr. Magda Mufleh, explained that most of the authority’s centers have returned to work and several laboratories have been established, including a laboratory for the residual effect of pesticides and an oil laboratory in Lattakia as a substitute for the Idlib laboratory and another for the production of new strains of agricultural mushrooms and shellfish with 30 million pounds allocated for the rehabilitation of a new plant in Sponsored in Deir Ezzor.
Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Abdel-Karim Lahham, said that attention is currently focused on securing production requirements, especially wheat. Work is also underway to rehabilitate the livestock sector and to import Holstein Friesian packs as high-production veins from Germany.
The conference was attended by Muhammad Shaban Azouz, member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, head of the Qatari Workers and Peasants Bureau, President of the General Federation of Trade Unions, Jamal al-Qadri, and members of the executive office.
