(ANSA) - CITTÀ DI CASTELLO (PERUGIA), 08 MAR - "Long live the women, happy March 8": from the window of his home in Città di Castello, where he lives with his daughter Anna respecting all anti-Covid precautions, once again Luisa Zappitelli, whom everyone calls "grandmother Lisa", wanted to pay her support and closeness to all women and remember 8 March.
He did it with a mimosa twig in his hand, a tribute to a tifernate, wearing a mask.
Luisa Zappitelli turned 109 in November 2020.
"Put the mask on, please, this virus is an ugly devil" he repeated several times in the year of Covid.
A message that today he reaffirmed from his window with his daughter Anna Ercolani beside him.
"I will vaccinate against Covid - he reiterated - as soon as they allow me, I have always had a lot of trust in doctors. In my life I have always followed everything that the doctors have told me to do and I have always taken all the medicines".
The mayor of Città di Castello Luciano Bacchetta, together with the councilors Luciana Bassini, Rossella Cestini, Michela Botteghi and all the council, also joined his appeal-best wishes to women on March 8 "in thanking Grandma Lisa once again for what it represents and how it does it ".
