Millions of students returned to study in England today (Monday) for the first time in two months, with the start of easing the closure imposed to curb the spread of the corona plague.

Opening schools in England for all pupils is the first of four stages in the government's relief program, as it seeks to prevent a new wave of infections after a devastating winter during which hospitals were overcrowded with Corona patients.

Of all the European countries, the numbers in the UK are the most difficult.

At least 124,500 people have died after being diagnosed positive for the virus, the fifth highest number in the world.

In contrast, the vaccination campaign in the kingdom is conducted at a much more satisfactory and rapid pace than in other European countries.

The quarantine in England is still valid for adults with severe restrictions on gatherings.

In addition, residents are required to stay in their homes except in vital cases, most shops are still closed, and cafes and restaurants can only offer deliveries or self-collection.

"Opening all schools has been our top priority and this is the first step in our plan on the way back to normalcy," tweeted British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Going back to school is a huge relief for millions of parents, who for months have been trying to maneuver between their work and close supervision of their children.

In elementary schools, students were divided into "bubbles", with tough arrival and departure times and they were required to wash their hands frequently.

In divisions and high schools, however, the restrictions are stricter.

The boys are required to undergo corona tests, which create a logistical headache for educational institutions, and to wear a face mask during classes.

Despite these restrictions, there is almost universal agreement among parents, teachers, child psychologists, social workers and the rest of society that children's return to school is critical to their mental health, education and chances of success in life.

Most students missed an extended period of time from school.

Most students missed more than three months of school in the spring and early last summer, with the UK entering its first closure.

At that time, as well as during the last closure, only special education students and those whose parents were considered “essential workers” by the government were allowed to attend schools.

However, even they did not get regular classes in the classroom, as the teachers were busy organizing distance learning for all the other students.
