The Lenggries mountain rescue service had to go out twice last weekend to help injured mountain athletes.

The current snow conditions made the operations difficult.

Lenggries / Jachenau

- The Lenggries mountain rescue service had two missions last weekend because mountain sports enthusiasts were in need.

On Saturday around 2 p.m., the helpers moved towards Schafreuter, as reported by the mountain rescue service.

A ski tourer injured her knee on the descent and was no longer able to ski on her own.

Because she was in a remote area, a rescue helicopter was called.

A mountain rescuer got into the helicopter at the Lenggries sports field.

Together with the crew of the RK 2 helicopter from Reutte, the patient was evacuated with the rescue hoist.

Roads partly unusable due to fresh snow

The next mission took place on Sunday around noon.

A mountaineer had injured her foot in the area of the Staffelalm in Jachenau.

Here, too, the rescue helicopter Christoph Murnau was alerted with a rescue winch.

The injured person and their escort were evacuated together with the mountain rescue service.

The mountaineer was dropped off again in the Jachenau area.

According to the mountain rescue service, the current snow situation makes rescue operations difficult for the helpers, as some roads can no longer be used due to fresh snow and mudslides.

Therefore the rescue helicopter is preferred for reasons of time.
