Defeated by 387 votes on June 28 in the second round of the ballot in the 13th and 14th arrondissements, with 49.03% of the votes against 50.97% for the LR list, Senator RN had notably put forward in his appeal different signatures on the attendance books, between the first and the second round, for 443 voters.

Stéphane Ravier won this sector in the north of the city in 2014, before relinquishing his seat as mayor to respect the non-accumulation of mandates.

The court ruled that 204 votes should be withdrawn from the number of votes collected by David Galtier and one vote added but that these irregularities had no impact on the outcome of the ballot, a gap of 182 votes persisting after the second. tower.

The judges also rejected the appeals of Stéphane Ravier relating to "

the impact of the health crisis on the participation rate

”, considering that“

the level of abstention observed could not be regarded as having altered the sincerity of the ballot

”.

The other grievances put forward by candidate RN relating in particular to electoral propaganda or the conduct of voting operations were also dismissed as not being of a nature to alter the results of the ballot.

During the hearing, Stéphane Ravier was particularly surprised at the speed with which the public rapporteur had ruled out the use of public premises by activists and LR candidates to campaign.

"

I'm not letting go

," he insisted.

After the rejection of another appeal, in the 3rd sector won by the Printemps Marseillais list led by Michèle Rubirola, the administrative justice has yet to rule in a final case, that of the 6th sector of the city, won by Julien Ravier ( LR), and where suspicions surround in particular the powers of attorney collected in an EHPAD.

The left, united under the banner of Printemps Marseillais, had won in the summer the mayoralty of the second city in France after 25 years in office of Jean-Claude Gaudin (LR).
