The Houthi rebels in Yemen yesterday (Sunday) launched UAVs and missiles at a strategic oil facility and other targets in Saudi Arabia, following escalation in fighting between the parties. Riyadh said it was a failed attack against global energy supply security. An armed T. who came from the sea before hitting an oil storage facility in Ras Tenora off the coast of the Persian Gulf, and one of the largest oil loading facilities in the world.



In addition, shrapnel from a ballistic missile launched at the eastern city of Dahran fell near a residential complex used by the world's largest state-owned oil company, Aramco.



Following the attacks, world oil prices soared.

The sites are located on the shores of the Gulf near Iran and Iraq and Bahrain, and Saudi officials said the launches did not leave Yemen despite the Houthis accepting responsibility.

Shiite rebels are backed by Iran, and in September 2019 they claimed responsibility for the widespread offensive against Aramco's oil facilities even though the United States and Saudi Arabia blamed Iran, which denied it.
