The debate around a possible compulsory vaccination for caregivers continues.
On Radio Classique, the Deputy Minister in charge of Industry, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, indicated that she preferred "that
they be vaccinated because they wish it
", not because they are forced to.
She pleaded for an "
exercise of pedagogy and discussion
" with this population reluctant to be vaccinated, before considering a legal obligation.

"
It's a great classic, the reluctance of caregivers to be vaccinated,
" said the government representative.
Several vaccines are available and "
AstraZeneca is working very well,
" said the minister, citing recent studies whose results have exceeded expectations.
"
I am not comfortable with the idea of forcing caregivers to be vaccinated, whereas today it is they who are on the front line [...] and they are the ones we have been welcoming for a long time. year for the amazing work they do.
I am convinced that we will convince them to join this vaccination movement
, ”she pleaded.
In
Le Parisien
, this Monday, the government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, is more critical.
“
For the past year, our caregivers have been heroic.
But it is not admissible that we have this vaccination rate among caregivers today,
”he regrets.
Denouncing an "
irresponsibility to refuse to be vaccinated when one is caregiver
", the representative puts aside for the moment a possible obligation, while specifying that "
it remains a possibility
" if the situation does not evolve.
The government's promise "will be kept", insists Pannier-Runacher
Returning to the executive's calendar, the minister recalled that Johnson & Johnson's vaccine should have its marketing authorization "
by March 11
", for deliveries in April.
The Sputnik vaccine, meanwhile, will be studied by the European Medicines Agency for "
about two months
".
But the latter will not be a miracle solution, because "
there are very few doses [...] it is a complex production [...] they are not able to deliver many doses immediately.
», Underlined the Minister.
However, the executive's promise will be kept, in particular thanks to a ramp-up in vaccine production by Moderna, BioNTech-Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
"
We are able, indeed, to vaccinate 30 million French people by the end of June,
" she assured.
"
You have [...] 10 million in mid-April, 20 million in mid-May, 30 million at the end of June, [that is] 2/3 of adults, and by the end of summer, and summer c 'is a season, [...] so let's say at the beginning of September
”, all the adults who wish it, she specified.
