In about three weeks, the IDF will open the new prison, Prison 10, which was built at the Neve Tzedek base in the Beit Lid camp. The facility will replace the two mythical detention bases, Prison 4 and Prison 6. As published last week in Israel Today, as part of preparations for the new prison. Prison 4 was closed and all inmates were transferred to Prison 6 until the opening of the new prison.

The new detention facility will have seven detention companies, including five whites, a women's company and a surveillance company.

Each company includes detention cells, a kitchen, a dining room, a synagogue, faculty offices, a tour courtyard, a canteen, protected areas and Knesset.

Each company will have about 20 cells, with each cell being able to house up to seven inmates.

In total, the prison will be able to accommodate up to 940 inmates, and the area in the new compound will be about 4.5 square meters. The inmates' rooms will be equipped with a TV through which the prison director can send messages to them, and each cell has a toilet and shower. Install air conditioners in the detainees' rooms from the perception that air conditioners for soldiers in outposts and end units must be provided first, and only then for the inmates.

More than 700 cameras network the detention facility, and the entire prison, built by the Ministry of Defense's Engineering and Construction Division, is surrounded by a three-meter-high concrete wall, on which a 1.5-meter-high steel fence with a curl is installed.

In the center of the prison is a large and colorful sports field for the well-being of the inmates.

About 300 faculty members are expected to command the base, including incarceration commanders, platoon commanders, company commanders and more.

A workshop was also established there to employ inmates.

In addition, a diagnostic and resilience center will be established at the facility, with the aim of "strengthening the affiliation of soldiers imprisoned in the IDF and the state" and "bringing them back to meaningful proper service," taking into account the system's needs, individual needs and reducing dropout. Mental health and factors of return to proper service.

Each prisoner will have a personal plan, and if necessary, they will learn Hebrew and complete the matriculation exam.

The "Profession for Life" project will also operate in the prison in order to provide prisoners with a profession for military service and after their release from the IDF.

Only detainees for the fifth time or more will be imprisoned, those who are imprisoned for a period of 28 days or more for offenses of severe violence, violence with a criminal record, detainees of Meitav (dodgers and deserters) and Hashomer Farm soldiers.

Anyone sent to jail for a shorter period for lesser offenses and this is his first to third time, will be sent to unit guard rooms.

In slightly more serious cases, when it comes to pre-trial detainees or quarantines until the fourth incarceration, soldiers will be imprisoned in military police guard rooms.

In the second half of the year, the new legal campus, to which the military tribunals will move, as well as the prosecution and military defense units currently located in Haifa, Jaffa and Kastina, will open near the detention center.

The legal campus and the prisons will be adjacent to each other, and it will be possible to walk both to the employment areas within the prison and to the legal campus and from it, with complete separation between the authorities.

Meanwhile, starting in April, the military police will start using dogs to locate drugs, thus the IDF will try to overcome the ban on searching a soldier's file. A soldier convicted of drug use will be brought before a committee of the best that can decide to deny his release and deposit.
