The topic of vaccination against Corona moves people.
Almost 140 interested parties took part in an online event organized by the Saxon Green Party and asked the invited experts questions.

- AstraZeneca's corona vaccine has a bad reputation.
Incorrectly, as Thomas Maurer finds: "The vaccine should not actually hide itself in terms of its effect," said the general practitioner from Bad Tölz in an online information event organized by the Saxon Green Party.
"The problem with the vaccine was just the strange communication and the strange design of the study."
Michael Dommasch, head of the emergency room at the Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich, and Maurer talked about the corona vaccines for three quarters of an hour and were then bombarded with questions by the 136 listeners.

Why was the AstraZeneca study set up strange?

Usually a group of vaccinated people is compared with a “placebo” group.
The AstraZeneca study compared people who had been vaccinated against corona with those who had been vaccinated against meningococci.
I don't see why this was done.
The study results are therefore not as easy to read as with other corona vaccines.
How is the effectiveness of AstraZeneca?
Maurer:
The effectiveness is very, very good.
AstraZeneca vaccine is being fired from all cylinders in England.
Since then, hospital admissions and death rates have plummeted.
How many weeks should the first and second vaccination be?
Maurer:
Studies show that AstraZeneca is most effective when it is re-vaccinated after twelve weeks.
What side effects are to be expected?
Maurer:
71 percent of those vaccinated show local reactions such as tiredness, headache, body aches, joint pain, nausea and itching.
Serious side effects are very rare.
So far, two cases of spinal cord inflammation are known.
You have to check whether there is any connection with the vaccination.
There were also very rare cases of transient facial paralysis.

I had a headache after the second corona vaccination.
It wasn't pleasant, but it was over quickly.
I too want to break a lance for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Over five million people who have been vaccinated have now been observed.
It has been shown that it works equally well or sometimes even better than the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer when it comes to hospital stays and severe corona courses.
What are typical vaccination reactions at Biontech / Pfizer?
Dommasch:
80 percent of those vaccinated feel pain at the injection site, 60 percent complain of fatigue, 50 percent have a headache, 30 percent have aching limbs.
In addition, 30 percent shiver, 20 percent joint pain and ten percent of those vaccinated have fever.
These post-vaccination symptoms are not serious side effects, but a sign that the immune system is starting to work.
The reactions usually go away after 24 hours.
Should you get vaccinated if you have already had Corona?
Dommasch:
It is assumed that after the illness has been overcome, there is a certain protection against re-infection.
Maurer:
The Standing Vaccination Commission recommends getting vaccinated six months after the illness.
But I assume that the protection will last a little longer than half a year.
What to do if seniors are afraid of the vaccination
Dommasch:
It has been seen that older people in particular show far fewer side effects than 20 to 30 year olds.
The elderly usually sit the vaccinations on one buttock.
Why are younger people more sensitive to vaccinations than older people?
Dommasch:
It may be due to the rate of cell division, which is a little higher in younger people.
Does a vaccination protect against the mutations?
Dommasch:
With the British variant there are good vaccination results, with the South African variant the hope is not that great.
Maurer:
Thank goodness the South African variant is not that widespread here.
So far they only have one percent of those infected.
Does vaccination have any effect on reproduction?
Dommasch:
Difficult question.
Vaccination is not recommended if family planning is to be undertaken within the next few weeks.
This is purely a precautionary measure.
The data on this is still a bit vague.
The vaccines are not built into the nucleus, so I don't think there should be any concerns.
Maurer:
A young person's immune system has a much greater potential and greater chances of a mild course.
But there is also a social aspect.
A young person should not act as a transmitter when they are in contact with the elderly or with people with pre-existing conditions.
The question is: Do I put individual or social aspects in the foreground?
Dommasch:
I know a number of young employees who have had a severe Covid disease.
Nobody wants such severe complaints.
When it is the turn of the young people to vaccinate, there will be more study results.
Is vaccination recommended for type 1 diabetes?
Dommasch:
Yes, of course.
Which vaccine is recommended for atopic dermatitis?
Maurer: There is no precise information on this. The AstraZeneca vaccine without the polyethylene glycol allergen may be more recommended.
What do you think of theories about conspiracies?
Maurer:
Studies on vaccines have never been looked at as closely as they are now.
This transparency must be maintained.
It's only about information and communication.
