Ten official experts and a dozen other parties met this Monday for the first time to start the
key medical board
that will define whether the death of Diego Armando Maradona could have been prevented and if there was malpractice, what role should each one of the seven defendants and if there could be more perpetrators.
It was in this context that two of the lawyers insisted that, for them, Diego was killed and that he is
dealing with "intentional homicide"
instead of
"culpable homicide"
as the San Isidro prosecutors defined the cause for the moment.
Although they also spoke of the possibility of
abandonment of a person
and even
homicide by omission
or
murder with eventual intent.
After 10 o'clock, the different lawyers and experts began to arrive at the headquarters of the
Scientific Police Superintendency
of the Buenos Aires Police, located on avenues 52 and 118, in the city of La Plata.

Two of the prosecutors who sign the file, the deputy attorney general of San Isidro, Cosme Iribarren, and the prosecutor of Benavídez, Laura Capra, were the representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office who led the meeting, where the work guidelines were defined.
Judicial sources told the
Télam
agency
that this Monday it was agreed to divide the work of professionals into
two groups
: on the one hand, those related to clinical, health and cardiology medicine;
and on the other, the psychiatric and psychological.
They also defined that
not all meetings will be face-to-face
, but that they will meet virtually through the Zoom application or other similar platforms, and the first virtual meeting was agreed for next Friday.
"In addition, to avoid any type of leakage of audiovisual or sensitive materials, the experts must
attend
the San Isidro General Prosecutor's Office in person, with prior notice, when they need to see videos, photographs and any paper document," explained one of judicial investigators.
Repercussions
At the end of the meeting, the lawyer Mario Baudry, who represents the son of his partner Verónica Ojeda, Dieguito Fernando Maradona, the youngest of Diego's children, agreed with the selection of specialists made by the prosecutors and explained that for this reason , he did not present expert witnesses.

"I am very satisfied with the questions that were asked, they are very clear, very specific and seek very specific facts.
If the doctors answer those questions it is enough
. The instruction that I have from Verónica is to know the truth and
the truth is harder than what one suspected,
"commented the lawyer.
When asked if the cover should go from "wrongful death", as the prosecutors defined for the moment, to "intentional homicide", Baudry replied: "I have been
saying from the first day that Diego was killed
."
"When you listened to the audios and WhatsApp you understood what one felt. I represent Dieguito, a boy who lost his father, not who lost Maradona. I believe that this crime is fraudulent,
at least there is
aggravated
abandonment of the person
that is 5 to 15 years (in jail), but can go to
murder by omission,
"said Baudry.
Rodolfo Baqué, who defends Dahiana Gisela Madrid, the nurse who was present at the time of the death of the Gymnastics DT, opined: "I still maintain that there is a
simple homicide with eventual intent
or
abandonment of a person
in the terms of (article) 106 of the Penal Code, which is the one that puts the health or physical integrity of a person at risk, "said Baqué.

The defender agreed with Baudry that the doctors who make up the medical board "are of the highest level" and that he did not put experts on the side for this and because, as he said, "according to the questions it is clear that there is an
absence of participation of the nurses "in the death
of Maradona.
Vadim Mischanchuk, lawyer for the accused psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, assured that the medical board will know "if there was any kind of reproach" for the professionals who treated Diego.
And he anticipated that his client
will be able to "justify each of her acts
as a psychiatrist."
24 points
There are 24 points of expertise that the prosecutors formulated for the experts to answer what was Maradona's cardiological status, if his doctors should know him,
if he was well or badly medicated
, if the neurosurgery to which he was subjected was necessary, if the house of the San Andrés de Tigre neighborhood where he died on November 25 was the appropriate place for a home stay and if the team in charge of his health increased, by his
actions or omissions
, the risks for the Ten.
