Damascus-Sana
The head of the Syrian Doctors Syndicate, Dr. Kamal Amer, confirmed that the doctor who is enrolled in the military service will be sorted in the hospital or medical center he desires upon joining the service, and his compulsory service will be terminated without retaining the joined doctor from now on, based on the letter of the Military Medical Services Department addressed to the Syrian Doctors Syndicate.
Amer said in a statement to SANA that the Services Department pledged to implement the seventh article of the Syrian Commission for Medical Specialization’s decision on the year of concession, which stipulates that the first calendar year in compulsory service is equivalent to the concession year.
According to the letter directed to the Doctors Syndicate, when the doctor joins the compulsory service and based on a confirmation letter from the Medical Services Department of the Syrian Commission for Medical Specialties that the doctor has joined, he delivers the specialty certificate directly.
The Doctors Syndicate described the decision as a positive step, explaining that the service will be within the hospitals of the Ministry of Defense and every doctor in his governorate or the hospital closest to his place of residence.
In July 2018, the Syrian Commission for Medical Specialties issued a regulatory decision stipulating that a calendar year be added to the training years, and the contract renewed after passing the final exam, and this year is called a year of concession.
