Ten official experts and another ten proposed by the parties will begin this Monday an interdisciplinary medical board that will be key in the case in which the death of Diego Armando Maradona (60) is being investigated to define if his death could have been prevented, if there was bad praxis, what role does each of the seven defendants play and if there were more perpetrators.

Judicial sources informed

Télam

that the medical board is the measure that prosecutors expect to summon the seven defendants who were notified as suspects of a possible "

wrongful death

", and do not rule out that, based on their conclusions, expected for April, more defendants will join the file.

Today at 10 o'clock will be the first day of the dissertation of the 20 experts that will be held at the Superintendency of Scientific Police of the Buenos Aires Police, located on avenues 52 and 118, in the city of La Plata.

Last week, the team of prosecutors coordinated by San Isidro Attorney General John Broyad notified the 24 points of expertise that the experts will have to answer and gave the parties a week to appoint their own experts and propose questions.

Dr. Leopoldo Luque's post for Diego Maradona's 59th birthday.

It was recognized "in charge" of the health of the "10".

What was Maradona's cardiological status, if his doctors should know him, if he was well or badly medicated, if the house in the San Andrés de Tigre neighborhood where he died on November 25 was the appropriate place for a home hospitalization and if the team to charge of his health increased, by his actions or omissions, the risks for the "10", are

the axes of the 24 questions of the prosecution.

Of the ten official experts, the first four are the forensic doctors who performed or witnessed the autopsy: the director of Forensic Medicine of the Buenos Aires police, Carlos Cassinelli;

the head of the San Isidro Medical Corps, Federico Corasaniti;

the head of the San Isidro morgue, Agustín Grimoldi Vázquez;

and the head of the La Plata morgue, Javier Grubisa.

The other six doctors are specialists in different disciplines: the cardiologist Gustavo Di Niro, the psychiatrists Enrique Gallego and José Luis Covelli, the toxicologist Carlos Damin, the nephrologist Hernán Trimarchi and the hepatologist Fernando Cairo.

The room where Diego Maradona died, in the San Andrés neighborhood of Tigre.

In addition to the experts, one of the three prosecutors who signed the file (Laura Capra, Cosme Iribarren and Patricio Ferrari) could appear as observer of the meeting.

According to judicial sources, the experts estimated that the medical board will take

between 14 and 21 days

to decide whether the death of the former world champion in Mexico 1986 was avoidable or not.

Maradona died on November 25, 2020 at noon, in a house in the private neighborhood of San Andrés, Tigre, where he was in a home hospital that is under investigation.

The autopsy determined that he died as a result of "acute pulmonary edema secondary to exacerbated chronic heart failure."

He suffered from "dilated cardiomyopathy."
