The president of the United States, Joe Biden, is expected to sign the aid package for 1.9 trillion dollars before March 14, when the delivery of the weekly bonus for unemployment expires.

Once the Democrat enacts the law, most citizens will receive within days a direct check for $ 1,400, the highest amount of the three major economic stimulus plans approved by the United States Congress to address the coronavirus crisis.

What are the requirements to receive the check?

Have filed a tax return in 2019 and generated a gross annual income of less than $ 75,000 to receive the check for 1,400.

The amount is gradually reduced to the ceiling of 80,000.

In the case of couples filing joint returns, to obtain 2,800 they must generate earnings of less than 150,000.

The cap in this case is 160,000 per year.

The average family income per year is $ 68,703, so the bulk of the taxpaying population will receive direct checks.

If your income in 2019 was too high, but your financial circumstances changed during 2020, you should file your taxes as soon as possible.

Is there pay for a dependent child or elderly person?

Yes. Parents - or single mother or single father - will receive an extra $ 1,400 for each dependent child.

In previous stimulus plans, the age limit for dependent children was 17, but dependent college students have been included in this round.

Also if they have adult children with special needs or an elderly person in their care.

The money will be received by the taxpayer, not the dependent.

When will the payment be delivered?

For reference, recipients of the second stimulus package began receiving the checks two days after then-President Donald Trump signed the plan.

As in the past, taxpayers whose bank information is on file with the US Revenue Agency (IRS) are likely to receive the money first because it is deposited directly into their accounts.

The House of Representatives is expected to vote Tuesday on the changes the Senate made to the bill and Biden will sign it into law shortly.

Does the check arrive at the house?

Some will receive the check in the mail and others will see direct deposits to their bank accounts.

The IRS is responsible for the transfers on behalf of the Treasury Department and will provide the details about the distribution once Biden signs the rescue plan.

An estimated eight million eligible people did not receive the payment of the first rescue package because the IRS did not have the information to contact them.

Very low-income citizens who do not often file tax returns may need to register online for assistance.
