The presence of Syrian women in times of war and their confrontation with the challenges created by the war on Syria axes addressed by the symposium held by the Arab Cultural Center in Mezze on the occasion of International Women's Day entitled “Syrian women are leaders and positions.”
The symposium came to salute the Syrian women who stood by the side of men in war and peace and at all levels in the face of the most difficult circumstances.
Lawyer and writer Faten Derki explained in her intervention that the world celebrates on March 8 of each year the Women's Day, indicating respect, appreciation and love for women for their economic, political and social achievements, pointing to the progress of Syrian law in the field of women's rights, especially the articles related to marriage and divorce that granted women rights that were previously lost. .
Dirky also pointed to the great role that women play in our society at all levels inside and outside the home and the burdens borne by the working woman in addition to the burdens of the house, stressing that Syrian women are fighters as long as they bear all the burdens in light of the absence or martyrdom of many of their husbands.
Novelist Ayman Al-Hassan, who conducted the symposium, explained to SANA that the Syrian woman, in the past and present, was present next to the man, referring in this regard to Zenobia, Julia Domna, Al-Khansa and many others who have distinguished in our country. In their homes and outside, they were distinguished by their art, literature and all areas of life.
