The Dragon's Back in Shek O, once selected as one of the "Best Hiking Routes in Hong Kong," recently appeared with a peculiarly shaped "three-fingered claw" wooden decoration. Most mountain hikers think badly about destroying the natural view.

A reporter from "Hong Kong 01" visited the site today (8th) and directly attacked the workers who removed the furnishings. The furnishings were suspected to be demolished after only three days of display.

In response to enquiries, the AFCD admitted that the decoration was constructed by staff of the department using trees that were blown down by a typhoon. The placement on the site was only an experiment. However, after review, it was found that the decoration was not compatible with the nearby natural environment, so the decoration was removed.

The Fisheries and Conservation Department said that in order to facilitate the public to see the scenery around Shek O, the Fisheries and Conservation Department has recently set up a viewing point in Longji and is adding railings there to ensure the safety of visitors.

The above-mentioned display is an assembled display built with trees blown down by a typhoon in the viewing area, which is of an experimental nature.

After reviewing, the AFCD considered that the furnishings displayed in the area were not compatible with the nearby natural environment, so the furnishings were removed.

The furnishings were constructed by AFCD staff using trees that were blown down by the typhoon, and no additional costs were involved.

The AFCD’s Facebook page "Country Park Educational Activities Plan" also issued a document explaining the incident, stating that the department has been working to improve the facilities of the Longji Trail, such as the use of solar-powered toilets at the entrance to Didi Wan.

In addition to the addition of a viewing point at Longji looking towards Tai Tam Port this time, a viewing point will also be set up at a location looking towards Shek O.

The article mentioned that the claw-shaped decoration was dismantled because it did not match the natural environment, and pointed out: "It will not appear later. Because we know that the beautiful scenery of Longji is the first selling point."

The AFCD's Facebook page "Country Park Educational Activities Plan" also issued an article explaining the incident, stating that the claw-shaped decoration was dismantled because it did not cooperate with the natural environment, and stating: "It will not appear later."
