“12 Moments from 200 Years” illuminates a podcast on the history of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising: People, places and things are remembered twelve times.
Freising - After the first episode "How everything stopped and began", in which diocesan archivist Roland Götz reports on history, local Freising heroes have their say in the second episode, which was published at the end of February.
Alois Bierl, chief reporter at the Michaelsbund, met historian Florian Notter, head of the city archives, for a tour of historically relevant places and with Dr.
Ulrike Götz, head of the city museum, who remembered the right to mint, which Emperor Otto III had with a silver denarius struck in Freising.
to the Bishop of Freising in 996.
Until 1802, the Prince Diocese of Freising was a separate state with everything that goes with it: the right to coins, legislation, economic and social policy.
Alois Bierl on his very lively series: "The new podcast is aimed primarily at listeners who like to hear history and stories" - like that of the wheat beer glass that a carpenter gave the prince-bishop with a vivat after the redesign of the Freising Cathedral in 1724 at the topping-out ceremony hurled in a high arc from the cathedral tower.
The glass remained intact and is now one of the valuable and original treasures of the city museum, which is currently closed for renovation, but has gladly opened its depot for the contribution "Freising - a defining diocese".
