Indersdorf - Ulla Gottschalk from Indersdorf was - over a year ago - on the way to her daughter in Maroldstrasse.
When she got there, she saw something lying on the side of the road.
The first assumption that it was a rubber ring did not come true.
It was a wedding ring.
Ulla Gottschalk took the ring home, cleaned it and went to a professional.
Its analysis was surprising: The ring is a gold ring made of 585 gold.
That it could be a wedding ring was confirmed by looking at the inside of the ring.
There was July 26, 1980, and the name Gertrud was engraved on it.
The woman from Indersdorf went to the municipal administration to ask whether it could be determined who might have married on July 27th in Indersdorf.
The question went unanswered.
So the ring ended up in the lost property office of the community.
Almost exactly after a year, Ulla Gottschalk received a call from the community stating that no one had reported who missed a wedding ring.
You can now pick up the ring.
That would actually end the story.
Not so with Ulla.
The thought that someone was missing the ring didn't let go of her.
So she turned to the local newspaper for a report.
“Maybe there will still be someone who owns the ring,” she says.
