Engineer Maryam Fayyad, head of the association’s branch in Latakia, indicated in a statement to SANA Youth that this is the second participation of Syria after achieving first place in last year's edition indicating that this global event is being held in more than 50 cities across 29 countries around the world with the aim of introducing adolescents to AI technologies and development goals. Fayyad added that the idea of ​​the competition is based on proposing integrated projects that serve the community, noting that the association has qualified a large number of adolescents through the "Artificial Intelligence" club and trained them in artificial intelligence techniques, expressing her hope to achieve distinguished results this year and to strengthen Syria's position in international forums.

Eng. Ali Aoun, coordinator of the event and supervisor of the Artificial Intelligence Club in the association’s branch, drew attention to the great turnout witnessed by the event, especially from young girls who make up about 62 percent of the total number of participants, which is a cause for optimism if we look at the initiatives and ideas presented and their ability to assume leadership roles In participating teams.

Aoun indicated that the number of teams is 10, each of which includes 5 members, and each team is required to choose one of the sustainable development goals and find a solution to a societal problem inspired by the reality of Syrian life that intersects with this goal and transforms it from an idea to a real experimental project that serves the public interest, adding that the task of the organizers and supervisors is limited. To follow up the workflow, provide an appropriate environment, and ensure that there are no defects or technical problems, and ensure that the teams accomplish the daily tasks according to the set agenda.

Participant Ali Saud, 17, spoke about his passion for the world of technology and his participation in many programming competitions and the Syrian Scientific Olympiad, indicating that these experiences gained him great experience in addition to the training courses he underwent in the association branch in Lattakia, which contributed to enhancing his knowledge of artificial intelligence, its techniques and uses.

Saud said: He and his team are working on the idea of ​​an application that helps autistic patients and their families discover their creative tendencies to be encouraged and directed in the right path.

As for the participant, Naya Diop, she indicated that her team's project seeks to connect unemployed people or job seekers with the appropriate companies through a special application in which the user inserts his data and qualifications and at the same time the companies list their vacancies, which contributes to reducing the burden on both parties.
