Yu Guoqiang, a 58-year-old retired insurance broker, went to Fei'eshan alone on Tuesday (9th) morning to commit suicide and disappeared after hiking on the cliff. His family worried that he was in an accident and appealed to hikers to help find people.

Yu Guoqiang's daughter said that her father set off to Fei'e Mountain alone at about 7 am on March 9th to commit suicide on the cliff.

My father arrived at Fei'e Mountain at about 10 o'clock and had been in contact with family and friends through Whatsapp. At about 11 o'clock in the morning, his father sent his friend the last photo of the mountain road and disappeared. During this time, his family called Yu Guoqiang several times, but there was no response.

Ms. Yu pointed out, "Dad usually has a hand in hand, and he will return to the house for dinner before 6 o'clock at the latest." This time Yu Guoqiang has not returned home for a long time, and his family members are worried that he has encountered an accident.

Ms. Yu pointed out that her father was wearing black-rimmed glasses. He was wearing a yellow jacket, grey sneakers and a black backpack when he was missing.

Ms. Yu revealed that her father likes hiking very much. He hikes the mountain at least twice a week, and he usually hikes the mountain with his friends. However, this time an accident happened when he went hiking alone.

The police stated that they received a report from the victim's wife at 7pm, stating that the victim had disappeared after leaving the apartment in Siu Sai Wan.

The victim is about 1.6 meters tall, weighs about 63 kg, of medium build, long face, yellow skin and short black and gray hair.

When he last appeared, he wore black-rimmed glasses, a yellow jacket, gray sneakers and a black backpack.



The police appealed to anyone who has seen Yu Guoqiang or has information about him, please call the report room of the Chai Wan Police Station or any police station at 3660 1500 or 3660 1513.

At about 11 p.m., the police again received a report from Yu Guoqiang's son, requesting assistance in finding his father.

Until the early morning of March 10, firefighters and ambulancemen arrived at the suicide cliff area to search.

During the period, the Flying Service helicopters were also called to the scene to assist with a bird's-eye view from a high altitude.

The helicopter flew over the area between Qingshuiwan Road and Fei'eshan Suicide Cliff at 2 o'clock in the morning, and then turned on the spotlight to illuminate the mountain, and flew slowly and low to find the whereabouts of the missing person.

About an hour and a half later, the helicopter flew away from the scene and returned to the headquarters at the airport.

Yu's daughter and her boyfriend, worried about their father, arrived at the foot of Fei'e Mountain in the early hours of the morning to wait for news.

Yu's daughter pointed out that her father worked as an insurance broker before retirement, and now he will follow up insurance policies for old customers. He usually hikes in the mountains during his free time. He hikes the mountains every week for more than 20 years. He has considerable experience.

He also handed over and would report to his family at a fixed time.

The daughter's boyfriend said that he had called and WhatsApp Yu's father at about 2 a.m. The phone rang and the Whatsapp had "two tick", but no one answered him. Therefore, he believed that the phone had electricity, but was worried that he would be unconscious after he slipped.

He continued that the police revealed to them earlier that they had used the victim's mobile phone to locate it, but somehow it showed that it was in Kowloon Bay.
