Ansbach - Last Monday, March 1st, at around 4 p.m., there was a serious fatal traffic accident on federal highway 466 between Gunzenhausen and Gnotzheim.

A 65-year-old pedestrian was hit by a bus and seriously injured.

He died on March 6th in the hospital.

For reasons as yet unknown, the pedestrian got onto the road and was hit by a bus.

Initially, a truck driving in the direction of Gunzenhausen was able to prevent the collision with the 65-year-old man thanks to emergency braking.

However, the man from Gunzenhausen then got into the opposite lane and collided with a bus traveling in the direction of Gnotzheim, which could no longer avoid the collision despite emergency braking.

Immediately afterwards, another truck hit the first one.

The driver of this truck was rushed to the nearby hospital with serious injuries and his vehicle was totaled.

After the accident at Ansbach: the public prosecutor's office calls in experts

In order to clarify the exact course of the accident, the public prosecutor's office in Ansbach called in an expert.

The completely destroyed truck standing next to the road had to be recovered with a special vehicle and towed away.

The local fire brigades from Unterwurmbach and Gnotzheim supported the police in the complete closure and diverted the traffic until 7:30 p.m.

There was property damage totaling around EUR 20,000.
