The patients concerned can already make an appointment. Who can get vaccinated? In what conditions ? Le Figaro takes stock.

The vaccination campaign is accelerating.

Community pharmacists, who have declared to their ARS that they practice the flu vaccination, are authorized to prescribe anti-Covid vaccines and to administer them.

According to a decree published on Friday March 5 in the Official Journal, they are the same as midwives and nurses.

From March 15, they will be able to perform injections in their pharmacies.

And even, in the 18 departments where the epidemic is circulating more actively, from Friday, March 12.

Who can be vaccinated in a pharmacy?

People over 50 and with comorbidity (obesity, diabetes, etc.), people over 75 and caregivers of all ages can go to a pharmacy to receive an injection.

After April 15, in principle, 50-74 year olds who have

"no particular pathology"

will also be able to be vaccinated, Prime Minister Jean Castex promised in his last speech.

How to make an appointment?

For those concerned, it is already possible to make an appointment.

Either online, via the Covid-Pharma site which offers a list of pharmacies.

Either by phone.

Either on site.

"

People can come to pharmacies and register on lists

", specifies Philippe Besset, president of the Federation of dispensing pharmacists (FSPF), which encourages pharmacists to organize themselves in this way.

Do I need a prescription to be vaccinated in a pharmacy?

No.

The pharmacist has the right to prescribe.

Pharmacists can "

prescribe vaccines (..) to any person

", except those "

with a hemostasis disorder

" and pregnant women, says the text.

With the vital card, the pharmacist knows whether the person has a long-term illness or not.

Regarding obesity, we judge it.

If the cases are tangent, the patient is then referred to his attending physician

, ”who can also vaccinate the person, explains the president of the Federation of community pharmacists.

Will pharmacies be able to keep up?

The delivery of vaccines is gradual.

In 18 departments most exposed to the virus (Drôme, Rhône, Eure-et-Loir, Nord, Oise, Pas-de-Calais, Somme, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine -Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Val d'Oise, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône and Var), pharmacists will receive one or two bottles from this Thursday March 11 and will be able to start the vaccination on Friday March 12 for 10 or 20 people (one vial for 10 injections).

6,756 pharmacies are concerned.

For the 93 other departments we will receive a bottle or two maximum on Thursday, March 18.

The declared pharmacists will then be able to vaccinate on Friday 19. We receive the doses on Thursday during the day,

”explains Philippe Besset of the FSPF.

We will not be able to meet the demand at the beginning.

There will be waiting lists.

But then, from April, it should accelerate,

”he hopes.
