Do not wait for a green light: Studies will resume in localities before the weekly traffic light is updated
According to regulations that will come up tomorrow for the ministers' vote, improving morbidity for two consecutive days and changing the color of the traffic light will allow the authorities to return the schools to activity immediately.
The opposite situation, the aggravation of the number of patients with the virus, is not addressed in the new plan

The government is expected to approve new regulations tomorrow that will close the gap between improving morbidity in localities and opening schools.
According to the decision, authorities where there has been an improvement for two consecutive days and their traffic light color changes from red or orange to bright orange, yellow or green will be able to return the schools to activity without waiting for a further update of the traffic light cut.
Morbidity improvement data will be passed to the Director General of the Ministry of Education by the Ministry of Health as needed, and this will be prepared and updated by the local authorities accordingly.
Only after receiving the green light will they be able to get their studies back in order.
However, according to the regulations, an improvement in the morbidity data that occurred on Saturdays and Sundays will not be taken into account, because less tests are performed these days.
Also, the current wording of the regulations only details a state of improvement in morbidity rather than exacerbation, which creates uncertainty in relation to authorities that have become red, which it is not clear whether the regulations also apply to them.

The move is intended to encourage the heads of the authorities to improve the morbidity situation and allow them more flexibility.
Especially in light of the fact that the traffic light update is now only done once a week, despite the previous decision to do it twice a week.
Currently, the cutting that determines the colors of the authorities is done on Wednesdays and is actually implemented by the educational institutions on Sundays.
This week, the crop MDA constraints brought forward today (Tuesday).
Meanwhile, despite regulations have not yet confirmed, the Jerusalem municipality rushed to spend the evening message on the subject. "According to the government's decision that became apparent this evening, starting today mayors will be able to open the school in educational institutions, In all age groups, in areas that for two consecutive days have changed to a borderline orange, yellow or green according to the traffic light layout.
" "Gonenim, Neve Ya'akov and Givat Masua-Kiryat Menachem," they wrote. Shortly afterwards, realizing that no decision would be made tonight, they withdrew their announcement.
About 1.8 out of 2.4 million students have returned to the education system so far.
According to the latest update, students in other localities will come to schools starting next week, including Beitar Illit, Dimona, Lod and certain neighborhoods in Jerusalem and Netanya.
At the same time, there are other localities whose students will actually return to distance learning, including Ofakim, Ganei Tikva, Mitzpe Ramon and Sderot.
