An Italian-Swiss pharmaceutical company will produce Russia's vaccine against Corona, "Sputnik 5", in Italy, in a first-of-its-kind agreement in the European Union, a spokesman for the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Stefano Maggie, announced today (Tuesday).

Maggie said vaccine production would begin in July at Aden's plants in Lombardy, northern Italy.

He added that ten million doses of vaccines would be produced from 1 July to 1 January 2022.

Due to problems with the supply of vaccines in the EU, some countries have already started using Russian development, although it has not yet received official approval from the European Medicines Agency.

Only last week did it begin testing the vaccine, a first step toward approving the first non-Western vaccine.

A spokesman for the Chamber of Commerce added that if the vaccine is not approved by the European Medicines Agency by July 1, the doses produced in Italy "will be purchased by Russia's sovereign wealth fund and distributed in countries where the Sputnik vaccine is approved."

The Italian Ministry of Health declined to comment on the news of the agreement, and the pharmaceutical company Edien has not yet commented.

The Italian authorities need to give their official approval before the creature sets off.

To date, the European Union has approved the use of three vaccines against the corona virus - from the American Pfizer and the German Biotech, from the American Modern and from the British-Swedish Astraznica and Oxford.

On Thursday, he will decide whether to also approve the vaccine of the American company Johnson & Johnson, which is given in one dose.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the plan to create Sputnik vaccines in Italy would quickly meet much demand for it around the world.

He also said that the words of a senior official at the European Medicines Agency, who called on EU members to refrain from banning the Russian vaccine at this stage, "were inappropriate, to say the least".
