Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei stressed that the new US administration should return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action without any conditions and not put obstacles to the diplomatic track.
"We recommend to the White House again that just as the reckless former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal suddenly, he should return to the agreement and not put obstacles to the diplomatic track," Rabiei said today at a press conference. "The diplomatic track during the past four years, not the Americans .. Therefore, today they must take the first step towards diplomacy."
"There is no doubt that the nuclear agreement was the biggest political event in recent decades and a national achievement for Iran, as the achievements of the peaceful nuclear industry were preserved," Rabiei said.
The UN Security Council unanimously adopted its members in 2015 through Resolution 2231, the comprehensive action plan that the signatories to the nuclear agreement reached in July of the same year, but the previous US administration announced on May 8, 2018, Washington’s withdrawal from the agreement and the reinstatement of sanctions against Tehran. In defiance of the will of the international community and violation of international decisions.
