A good tip fell in the ear of an investigator at the beginning of the year and a lot of investigations behind: this is what allowed the Judicial Police (PJ) of Meaux to interrupt a delivery and get in touch on 814 kg of cannabis, stored in a warehouse in Serris, last Saturday.

Not to mention that, at the same time, the Melders police, helped by their colleagues from the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) of Versailles and the National BRI, that is to say about thirty officials in total, arrested six men: four on site and two others in the area.

It was without particular difficulty that these suspected traffickers, aged 20 to 47, were arrested, before being placed in police custody in the premises of the PJ Meaux.

They were joined - Monday morning - by three women, aged 23 to 28, arrested in turn in Val-de-Marne.

The Meaux prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation - this Tuesday - for drug trafficking and criminal association.

The nine defendants were to be presented to an investigating judge of the court of Meaux, in the wake, for an indictment.

The prosecution plans to request their placement in pre-trial detention.

Reason why a judge of freedoms and detention must rule on their fate in the evening.

Complementary work on arrests on deal points

The judicial police of Meaux will now have to understand where the resin and the cannabis herb, discovered in the warehouse, came from.

If the truck was "Spanish", not sure the narcotics came from Spain.

They could have been shipped from Morocco.

Prosecutor Laureline Peyrefitte does not hide her satisfaction: “It's a great investigation, even if we are at the beginning.

It shows the commitment of the investigators and their technical expertise in the field ”.

For his part, Commissioner Stéphane Guérin, at the head of the PJ Meaux, insists on the work deployed by all the police, in the fight against narcotics: "These arrests of wholesalers, who work in the shelter looks, complete the work done by public security on the deal points that can be seen below home ”.

While the market value of the drug seized on Saturday is estimated at 4 million euros, its resale value is estimated at 12 million euros.

This is not the first time that the Meaux judicial police have seized a large quantity of drugs.

In January 2018, Melders investigators from the narcotics squad got their hands on 2.3 tonnes of cannabis resin and 29.5 kg of grass on a farm in Essonne.
