A new woman claimed that the governor of New York had touched her inappropriately in late 2020, a New York daily reported Tuesday (March 9), bringing to six the number of those accusing Andrew Cuomo of harassment or inappropriate behavior.

True to the position he has displayed since the first of these allegations at the end of February, the powerful 63-year-old Democratic governor soon after again ruled out the idea of a resignation.
Assuring
"not to be aware"
of this new accusation, he reiterated that he would await the results of an independent investigation into these allegations, supervised by the state attorney general, Letitia James, with undisputed independence.
"Let the investigation establish the facts, we will see then,"
said Andrew Cuomo during a telephone press briefing called shortly after the publication of this new accusation.
Impeachment proceedings

, a newspaper in the state capital of New York, this new episode of alleged inappropriate conduct took place at the governor's official residence in Albany and concerns an employee who is unidentified at this point.
If the latter did not file a formal complaint, her allegations were transmitted to the legal department of the governor and to the services of the state prosecutor, the newspaper said.

These new accusations continue to weaken the position of the governor, in power for ten years and whose mandate expires in 2022.
