Kyodo News reported on March 9 that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga held a telephone talk with Indian Prime Minister Modi on March 9 and reached an agreement on practically promoting cooperation among the four countries of the United States, Japan, India and Australia.

According to the report, Yoshihide Suga said during a phone call with Modi that he was deeply concerned about China's unilateral attempts to change the status quo in the East China Sea and the South China Sea, as well as the "Maritime Police Law" and the situation in Hong Kong.

Reuters reported on March 8 that sources with the Japanese government revealed that the first summit of the "Four Nations Security Dialogue" may be held this Friday (March 12) or this weekend (March 13 and 14). .

The Hindustan Times also reported on March 5 that people familiar with the matter said that the leaders of the "Quadruple Security Dialogue" will hold their first summit in the form of video in March, and the U.S. government will take the initiative to arrange this meeting.

According to the report, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed the meeting. He said at a press conference that he had discussed the issue in recent conversations with US Presidents Biden, Modi and Yoshihide Suga.

The Japanese side has recently been dissatisfied with China’s newly implemented "Maritime Police Law," which allows the Chinese Coast Guard to use weapons when necessary.

Japan and China have a dispute with Diaoyutai (called the Senkaku Islands in Japan), so they are very dissatisfied with China's new law.
